Hi, I’m Mike! I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Framingham State University, and much of my background has been in community-based mental health. I’ve worked in crisis and co-response settings alongside law enforcement, as well as with people navigating substance use, involvement with the criminal justice system, housing and employment challenges, and other difficult life circumstances. Those experiences have really shaped the way I look at therapy and the importance of meeting people where they are.
I especially enjoy working with men, including those who may be hesitant about therapy or just aren’t sure what they’re supposed to get out of it. My style is conversational, straightforward, and practical. I use approaches like Solution-Focused Therapy, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing, but I don’t believe therapy needs to feel overly clinical. Sometimes you need someone to listen, sometimes you need to be challenged, and sometimes you just need a place to figure out what comes next.
My hope is pretty simple: I want you to leave therapy feeling a little better than when you walked in. That doesn’t mean every problem gets solved in one session or that every conversation is going to be easy, but therapy should feel like it’s helping you move forward. Whether that means having a better understanding of what you’re going through, finding a different way to look at something, or simply feeling like some of the weight has been taken off your shoulders, my goal is for our time together to feel worthwhile.
